Plugin privacy

Effective October 1, 2026

These plugins are instructions and templates that run inside ChatGPT. They have no Shield server, API or login.

  • Shield does not receive, see or store what you type, upload or get back when you use a Shield plugin.
  • Your conversations and files are handled by OpenAI under OpenAI's own privacy policy.
  • OpenAI may give Shield aggregate usage numbers, such as how many times a plugin was used. These never include your content.
  • If you email us for support, we use your email only to reply. Shield's main Privacy Policy applies to that email.
